ThreadLocal on Google App Engine (GAE)

Question

I would like to make some request data in my application application.

Examples:

• The URL for which the request was made.
• Authentication Information.

I see what ThreadLocalis on the GAE JRE whitelist .

Is a ThreadLocalgood and safe way to make this information available? Are there alternative / better / more acceptable ways?
