Should I free my application if I enable MySQL Connector / J (GPL) as part of my package?

I use MySQL Connector / J (GPL license) and group the jar as part of my distribution.

So do I need to also release my application in the GPL?

Yes you should.

But not because you are sending a mysql connector with your application, but because you are communicating with it. (If you really do it)

For clarification and solution see this note link text.
