How to build an affordable, "local", branded mini-browser

Since I don’t have a good idea for a word, to search with myself Id how to ask you:

Is there some kind of project, technology, w / e that allows you to create a “browser” with a very thin ui. Just some CI and a customized "start page".

I’m thinking of something like a Webkit engine (and interface) Valve / Steam uses a client storage page for it.

In which direction should I look for something like this? How can you implement something like this?

Answers on questions:

  • We need this in order to provide something like the Kiosk application (for touch screens) and be delivered to our Clients. Starting the browser in full screen mode is a temporary solution.

  • As is the case with platforms: Windows is absolutely sufficient at the moment, but Mac / Linux will not hurt.

  • Prism looks beautiful so far, but does not have a “shippable” part, for example. I do not see a way to pack it.

You can use Adobe Air, follow this tutorial and include your website in an iframe. This will allow you to create an executable file that you can send to your client.
