Can I send a message through GTalk Intent?

I am looking for a solution to send multicast (text) messages to all my google contacts from my Android app. Is there a way to do this using the GTalk (Intent) application, or do I need to use my own xmpp implementation? Any recommendations on a suitable solution / framework other than gtalkbacking? thank
