Shape.Parent does not return Slide

Question

In most cases, it shape.Parentis a slide that contains a shape.

However, if you try to delete the group, then click on cancel (the shapes will appear again), but the child shapes will throw an exception for .Parentand .ParentGroup.

How to find out the id of the form slide in the above case?

I followed your instructions and had no problems. I added two shapes to a clean start slide and then deleted them at the same time, and then did it Ctrl+Z. then I ran this in the nearest window -

?ActivePresentation.Slides(1).Shapes(1).Parent.SlideIndex

And it worked and showed a value of 1.
