Is my mental model wrong? The relative css path will be called using https if the page is called using https

If your page is called using the https protocol, any relative path to the external css will be called using the https protocol. Do you really need to encrypt / decrypt the content of css ?: D However, if you use the absolute path, referring to external css, you can specify the protocol used, usually http, not https. Maybe I'm wrong!

Please let me know if my mental model is really wrong.
