Android - Supported Image Types

Question

I have been looking for image types supported by Android everywhere.

Actually, my confusion (like JPEG, gif, etc.), because now I made a camera capture code using JPEG, but when I go and open albums from my HTC Hero, then I can’t view photos and images i captured. so which are image types supported by Android should i not captured photos with extension as .jpeg??

The error indicated in the Warning field: "The application Albums(process.com.htc.album) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again".
