Is Amazon SimpleDB Javascript Interface Possible?

I am looking at amazon simpledb documentation. They mention only server languages.

Is it possible to insert data into the database directly from the client side without going through the server?

If not, how?

Yes and no. Since you need to protect the secret key for AWS (hackers can use it to abuse your account), you cannot authenticate requests directly in JS.
