Google App Engine pros \ minus for Django?

I am going to start a new django project with friends. This project includes a website, an API for mobile applications, clearing and billing, aspects of internationalization, etc.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using the Google App Engine against conventional web hosting?

Of course, the GAE documentation praises their support for django, but I would love to hear from people first hand.

Here's a general discussion regarding the pluses / minuses for GAE. I'm more interested in the details regarding django support (and related libraries).
