SQL Profiler - what can be improved?

I don't know much about SQL Profiler and just purchased Brad McGee's book Master SQL Server Profilerto learn more. In the book, he says a couple of times how bad the user experience is and that it can be more functional.

For those of you with Profiler experience, what would you like to see that have changed or improved?

Many thanks

Problem # 1 with SQL Profiler is that doing simple things is hard. Let's say you want to track one user:

  • Open SQL Profiler
  • Click New Trace on the menu (What is a new trace? I just want to track the user.)
  • ( 1 , 10 ).
  • " " ( , ).
  • LoginName (, , NTLoginName)
  • " "
  • ( , , )
  • " , "
  • OK
  • "" ( "", )
