How do I display latitude / longitude coordinates on the screen?

I am trying to figure out how to draw the WGS84 latitude / longitude points on a bitmap, but cannot determine the math needed to turn the lat / lon points into coordinates that would be plottable. Can someone give me some pointers or examples of how to do this?

thank

Colin
