I recently started coding, and this community has helped me a lot to understand many things that I did not know about. However, many well-known coders instructed me about some patterns, about how I should encode and how I should not write codes. Although I gratefully accepted their offer, there were many things that I could not understand.
I want your point of view to understand a few questions that have arisen over the past few days.
Why did many coders give me thumbs when I used *select in the statement? Why did they offer to use it entityname.tablename, even if sometimes I need almost all the data from the table?

entityname.tablename
How good is it if my code frequently visits the database on one page, talk about query 5-8? To be more precise on the page, I would like to update the value, insert the value, count the lines, sum the values ββand so on.
I made almost the entire select statement as a single request, and one of the famous users in this community suggested that I donβt do it this way, instead I suggested using a user-defined function. (BTW, a user-defined function, helped me significantly improve my code and understand the error faster). What is your attitude to this?

The framework is very useful, but itβs not really a good idea for students / beginners. They make you skip the important parts of what you need to learn and limit your thinking. To judge the advantages and disadvantages of frameworks, choose the framework and overcome their weaknesses, you first need to have a thorough knowledge of the basics.
So, learn your basics, and once you have a strong grip on them, you can start using frameworks.
