Revert to previous git commit?

Apparently, some old bug fix has been fixed due to my recent merging of the old branch into a new one. I found a commit in the logs and have an ID (403357cab89465ce68001762d35fe27b57aeec65). Now I just want to restore this commit for the current work branch so that I can distinguish between these changes at first, but most likely catch them again. How can i do this?

git checkout 403357cab89465ce68001762d35fe27b57aeec65

does not work.

And by the way, commit included changes to several files.

Make a git cherry-pick sha1and it will pull this fix on top of the current HEAD.
