Silverlight: adding transparency to images

Hope someone can help us. We tried to combine the image editor with similar Photoshop functionality in Silverlight (but nowhere is it more difficult). Weve hit a strange problem when it comes to creating layers (multiple independent images on the z-index stack). The layers of the image on top of each other seem fine, but we want users to be able to edit the image in this layer, and we cannot make it work.

In particular, we want users to be able to cut β€œholes” on the image layer (and, therefore, let us see the image below to see), but no matter what we do, Silverlight will not allow us to change the alpha transparency of the PARTS image .

Oddly, this will allow us to turn the entire image into transparent, and it will correctly display any transparency that the image already has, but we cannot understand how to make a transparent user choice.

I hope this will be clear enough if someone can help us!

Many thanks.
