A simpler solution would be to simply disable the ShortcutsEnabled property of the text field, as described here .

It would be a shame both scientifically and philosophically to create an entire object that has absolutely no purpose in life.

You can simply configure the context menu to a new one. ContextMenu

    textBoxt1.ContextMenu = new ContextMenu();
