Can I do "Various" with a WCF Data Service (OData) request?

I really need to be able to execute "DISTINCT" on a WCF data service request.

From what I can say, such a function does not exist. I know that I can use the Distinct extension method in the Linq query on the client, but it still dampens the full set of results (which I don’t want in this particular case).

Any ideas?
