Creating a Visual Studio TFS plugin to store your credentials?

Each time I open Visual Studio 2008, I get a pop-up dialog asking me for my username and password ("Connect to Team Foundation Server"). Presumably, this is due to the fact that I have a TFS server stored on the Team Explorer tab in Servers, so it wants to connect to it at startup. In addition, this happens when I open a solution file whose solution involves controlling the TFS source for obvious reasons.

My problem is identical to that described in different places on the Internet, for example:

In all cases, I see the proposed solution is to add the TFS server credentials to the stored Windows credentials. I am using Windows 7, so I think you are doing this in Credential Manager.

Well, I added a TFS server with my credentials to the Windows credentials list, and I still get an invitation for my username and password when I open Visual Studio 2008. Anyone have ideas on how I can get it to automatically register with my credentials?
