How to create user accounts in MongoDB?

I wonder what the “right” way to create user accounts in MongoDB and actions like register / login. Do I need to create a specific collection for users (username, email address, password), or does MongoDB have something built-in for users?

If I need to manually create a collection of users, how to deal with password encryption? Thank.
