Bluetooth wireless headset

I am trying to create a simple program that scans a bluetooth headset (I am testing using a PS3 headset) and then connect to it. I am using the code from the bluetooth chat example . However, I can’t get him to connect to anything. This gives me an I / O exception when it hits connect ().

private static final UUID MY_UUID = UUID.fromString("00001101-0000-1000-8000-00805F9B34FB");

This thread is executed when trying to make an outgoing connection to the device. He goes straight; the connection is either successful or not working.

private class ConnectThread extends Thread {
    private final BluetoothSocket mmSocket;
    private final BluetoothDevice mmDevice;

    public ConnectThread(BluetoothDevice device) {
        mmDevice = device;
        BluetoothSocket tmp = null;

        // Get a BluetoothSocket for a connection with the given BluetoothDevice
        try {
            tmp = device.createRfcommSocketToServiceRecord(MY_UUID);
        } catch (IOException e) {
            Log.e(TAG, "create() failed", e);
        }
        if (tmp == null){
            Log.i(TAG, "tmp is NULL");
        }
        mmSocket = tmp;
    }

    public void run() {
        Log.i(TAG, "BEGIN mConnectThread");
        setName("ConnectThread");

        // Always cancel discovery because it will slow down a connection
        mAdapter.cancelDiscovery();
        Log.i(TAG, "discovery is cancelled");

        // Make a connection to the BluetoothSocket
        try {
            // This is a blocking call and will only return on a successful connection or an exception
            mmSocket.connect();  //Doesn't like something here???
        } catch (IOException e) {
            Log.e(TAG, "IO error, ", e);
            connectionFailed();
            // Close the socket
            try {
                mmSocket.close();
            } catch (IOException e2) {
                Log.e(TAG, "unable to close() socket during connection failure", e2);
            }
            // Start the service over to restart listening mode
            newTBluetoothService.this.start();
            return;
        }

        // Reset the ConnectThread because we're done
        synchronized (newBluetoothService.this) {
            mConnectThread = null;
        }

        // Start the connected thread
        connected(mmSocket, mmDevice);
    }

    public void cancel() {
        try {
            mmSocket.close();
        } catch (IOException e) {
            Log.e(TAG, "close() of connect socket failed", e);
        }
    }
}

Here is logcat:

Basically this headset level profile connection is done inside Android (and there is no application level access to establish the connection)

So ... @ Chris Mattmiller did you find another answer?
