Any way to hide Slicer values in Excel 2010

I know that Excel 2010 Slicers will visually indicate when there is no data associated with a particular slicer selection. For example, they lost color during 2010 if you do not have values in 2010.

Is there any setting where I can hide them at all?

If I have sales in 2007, 2009 and 2010; but not in 2008, the list of slicers can completely exclude 2008 or should always be displayed as greyed out.

I am not asking for a solution to select SQL, but rather an Excel setup.

Create your own format and just set the elements without data to white and white text, and they will disappear! You must also set a freeze for items that do not have data, otherwise they will appear if the user hovers over the object. Simples. Thanks Datapig!

You cannot do this in Excel; function does not exist. You may find that page filters will be better suited to the task.
