Could not connect to process.

Question

I am trying to debug a service in VS 2005. The service runs under the username SYSTEM.

I opened VS as an administrator.

The error I am getting is:

Unable to attach process. The system cannot find the specified file.

I am running on Windows Vista.

Perhaps the program you are trying to debug uses administrator rights, but the visual studio does not have administrator rights.

run visual studio as an administrator, even if you are logged in as an administrator, it does not have administrator privileges.
