JPEG HW Decoding Access API

Question

Is there any procedure / API in the Android SDK / NDK to check for the presence of a “JPEG HW Decoder” in the Android base handset?

If yes, then

Is there any procedure / API in the Android SDK / NDK for accessing the “JPEG HW Decoder” to decompress a JPEG image?

(I think the PV Media framework provides access to the same, but I'm not sure)

I plan to use a hardware JPEG decoder to decompress a jpeg image for success. Comment!

You can try using NDK and libjpeg-turbo to use neon instructions, if available.
