Accidentally committed the .svn directory

I accidentally transferred a folder with the name .svnto the Subversion repository. Now, when I try to check or update, I get the following error message:

svn: Failed to add directory 'oops / conference / .svn': a unversioned directory with the same name already exists

I deleted the directory in the next commit, but that did not help. Any ideas?

Have you tried to delete the folder directly in the SVN repository?

svn delete http://my.svnserver.org/path/.svn

svn will revert to revision before deleting the .svn folder.
