When your BroadcastReceiver is called through Intent, in what process does it work?

I know that we have 10 seconds to cope with the intention; otherwise, a watchdog timer will enter. And its supposed to be an easy function. So my question is: Does BroadcastReceiver work in the same process as your root activity? Or does it work on the Zygote system process?
