How to disable update update notification in Visual Studio 2010

In Visual Studio 2010, you receive automatic update update notifications. I do not want to be notified about this. Is there any way to disable this feature?

Go to Tools → Options → Environment → Extension Manager and uncheck the box “Automatically check for updates for installed extensions."

I think it will depend on each individual extension setting. However, some extensions may not be able to disable automatic updates.
