In the near future, our company will need to integrate the payment gateway with our PHP web application so that our users can pay the "conference registration fee" using a credit card. Before stopping using Authorize.net, I want to find out from other developers which payment gateways you used, and can recommend those that have an easy-to-use / integrated API.

I recently met a company called Stripe . They are a developer-oriented payment processing company. They process the material of the payment gateway, so you do not need to. They also have extensive documentation and easy to use APIs.
Update: another company like Stripe, Braintree . Their product offer (and pricing model) is very similar.
Authorize.net is pretty much the standard for live trading accounts. Most other providers even have authorize.net emulation mode. The API is pretty standard - there is no room for creativity.
