Does the licensed GPL font use my own license?

I want to use the GPL-licensed font in my application, but I do not want to use the GPL for the application itself.

Are there any other obligations besides providing the font source and mentioning the GPL?

If the font is the GPL itself, then you cannot paste actual stroke data into the application without a license for GPL compatibility. If this is an “GPL with exceptions,” then embedding may be acceptable if the font itself becomes available. The implementation bit is why the GPL is considered a defective font license. Otherwise, the GPLed font will not interfere with the licensing of the application.

My suggestion is to search and use OFL fonts.
