Implementing REST (JSON) in Google AppEngine

I play with the implementation of the REST service in Google AppEngine. I would prefer to use GAE Java and JSON to communicate between the service and clients.

What are all your favorite libraries?

Which security do you prefer using REST? Basic authentication or something else?

Also, as a side note, what are all your favorite libraries used in iPhone development to use REST + JSON services? The standard framework provided in the iPhone SDK? Or other libraries that wrap these services?
