How to change the installed Wordpress blog path

I installed my Wordpress blog here http://www.test.com.au/demo , now I want to change my root path to this http://www.test.com.au , but when I transfer all the files here, I I can’t access the site correctly. I do not know what is the actual method for this. Someone can guide me with the exact steps.

You may need more than just transferring files. You will need to change several database parameters, as well as in wp_options. Make a * select from wp_options and see which settings still indicate your previous location, then you can change them.

  • When you're ready to go live, go to the admin settings area.
  • Keep the Wordpress address the same and remove "admin" from the site URL.
  • Then copy the .htaccess file and the index.php file to the root directory.

  • Open the copied index.php file and remove "admin" from the last line:

    required ('./admin/WP-blog-header.php');
