Async Multiple Simultaneous Postbacks - ASP.NET

Question

Let's say I have 2 UpdatePanelsper page, and each UpdatePanelhas one server Buttoneach. When I click on the first button and then the second button and look in Firebug, I see that the second asynchronous callback does not start until the first completion.

Does this work as expected? I realized that with AJAX feedback, event handlers for buttons start at the same time.
