Where does Eclipse store settings and plugins in userdir?

I just installed a new Linux distribution on my box and want to move my Eclipse home from old /home/username/to new. Since I changed the desktop, I do not want to copy all hidden folders from ~/. So, what directories do I need to copy all my installed plugins?

I have already copied ~/.eclipse/and it definitely contains files related to plugins, but Eclipse will not download them. Any clues?

In the end, we found a directory containing all this by accident. Somehow we broke it, and Eclipse refused to start from my computer :-)

See ~/workspace/.metadata/.pluginsor wherever you are.

As far as I know, Eclipse stores its plugins in its installation directory ( eclipse). They can be in eclipse/pluginsor eclipse/dropins. You can copy the entire directory eclipsefrom the old field.
