Anyone using ruby-protobuf and ActiveRecord

I use googles, ruby-protobuf protocol buffers, with rails and ActiveRecord. The protocol itself seems like a good choice, especially since we connect to mobile devices. Its very compact format.

Problems arise when switching from proto-objects to ActiveRecord objects and vice versa. Looks like there is a lot of extra work here. I would like it to work the same way ruby-amf works.

Has anyone seen this before?

... or think, will there be interest in starting work on a plugin for rails?
