Understanding OpenCalais Conformance Score

I am trying to understand what is the compliance metric that opencalais returns associated with each object? What does this mean and how to interpret it? I would be grateful for understanding this.

Their documentation states: the relevance ability determines the importance of each unique object and assigns a relevance score in the range 0-1 (1 is the most relevant and important).

While they do not explain what relevance means, one would expect him to quantify the central role of the subject in the discourse of the document. It is likely influenced by factors such as subjects mentioning the frequency in this document compared to the expected frequency in a random document (see TF-IDF), but may also include more complex discourse analysis.
