How to resize a map without rescaling?

I am using R version 2.12.1 in Win XP.

I made a heat map with a dendrogram using the heatmap function. 2.

The heatmap basically looks the way I want it, but the column labels are disabled.

those. column text labels, although they are not very long (less than 12 characters), do not fit into the window and cannot be read completely.

If you manually resize the graphics window, the entire hetmap will be rescaled, so this will not help at all.

How can I resize the output so that I can read infull labels? (final goal - PNG and PDF).

Thank.

You can control this using the "res" option in any of jpeg (), bmp (), png ()

Example:

bmp(filename = "X", width = 480, height = 480, res=72)
heatmap(...)

Adjust res as needed, lower will reduce it and vice versa.
