I need to develop an optical character recognition program in Matlab (or any other language that can do this) in order to be able to extract readings from this photo.
The program should be able to download as many image files as possible, since I have about 40,000 images that I need to execute.
The overall goal of this task is to record the intraday gas readings from the specific gas meter shown in the photograph. A webcam is currently set up that is programmed to automatically read every minute, and so the OCR program will help you have historical data on the intraday gas analysis.
