How to center ul (nav) with flexible width

I'm trying to create a navigation

the width of the navigator will expand or decrease in accordance with the width of the internal elements of the list. How can I achieve this? or should I set a fixed width for the navigator?

Make each element, and the ribbon ends display:inline-block, then use text-align:centerfor the parent.
