Eclipse does not connect to the Internet through a proxy server

My eclipse (juno 4.2, centos 5.6) does not connect to the internet. At all. I have a proxy setup.

I looked Eclipse was unable to connect to the Internet and on various other issues. So, at the moment, my eclipse.ini file looks like this:

-startup plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.0.v20120522-1813.jar -Dhttp.proxyHost=192.168.1.21 -Dhttp.proxyPort=3128 -Dhttp.nonProxyHosts=localhost|127.0.0.1 -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true --launcher.library plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.gtk.linux.x86_64_1.1.200.v20120522-1813 -showsplash org.eclipse.platform --launcher.XXMaxPermSize 256m --launcher.defaultAction openFile -vmargs -Xms40m -Xmx512m

I also tried to set the proxy values in the settings (preferences / network connections) - set the HTTP host, HTTPS, SOCKS, port and credentials. But none of the Active Provider settings (Manual, Native, Direct) work for me.

I spent enough time on this to know that I need help. Bad .: P

So here I am ... help !!

I was able to do this through the preferences user interface in the Network Connection section. I had to set the "Active Provider" to "Manual" and then provide the proxy data below that.

This post ( Eclipse Kepler, not connecting to the Internet through a proxy ) suggests that you should not set (or you must reset it empty) SOCKS proxies for a network connection for the actual work. Have you tried this?

EDIT: maybe I'm a little late :) But it can still work for other people

For those who are still facing this problem after using the cntlm and socks settings; the cause may be your antivirus program. I tried every offer I offer, but I could not connect to the Internet in the market (i.e. when I activated cntlm, I could connect to the Internet using a web browser, but could not connect via eclipse or maven). Then it turned out that the antivirus program was blocked.
