Where is the PHPMailer log located?

Question

I am trying to get the Spark_plug input working with my application. Most of them are done, but I seem to be unable to send any emails. I tried a couple of things, including SMTP relay validation.

But the main problem is that I am not getting any error messages. Is there a specific journal that PHPMailer writes? I looked everywhere I know that in the mail program class you can set debugging, but this does not seem to have any effect.
