The provided iPhone does not appear in Xcode Organizer (or iTunes)

I recently set the application ID and provisioning profile and was able to successfully test my application on the device. Then I downloaded several examples of iOS Xcode projects after deploying one of them, and removing the sample application from the phone since then failed to sync the phone with iTunes or see it as connected in the Xcode organizer window (the device is still listed in lefthand, but displays as disabled). All new projects created in Xcode are now welcomed with the following message when I try to create and run on the device.

No provisioned iOS device is connected.

I am running Xcode 3.2.5 and iOS 4.2.

Any ideas?

Many thanks.

I had the same problem and posted about it on Apple.SE . Reinstalling iTunes fixed it for me.

Usually, when I encounter this problem, I will

  • Disconnect the device
  • Clear projects
  • Remove device from organizer
  • Restart xcode
  • Connect device

Then most of the time will be recognized by the device again. It seems strange to me that even iTunes cannot recognize it. Perhaps try to restart the device even?

Xcode 5.1.1

Disconnect the device from the device Window→ Organizer, Product→ Clean, close Xcode, connect the device, run Xcode- Window→ Organizerand add toMember Center

Hope this helps. The problem arose for me when I turned on iCloudand there was a problem with synchronization on iTunes.
