The display is corrupted with a repeating scrollbar in SSMS. Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) corrupts the results and queries window in both versions 2005 and 2008, as shown in the screenshot. It seems that the drawing / re-window display system repeats the scroll bars and does not draw / re-draw content areas. This happens on Windows 7 x64, both for setting up 2-monitors on a workstation and on a laptop.

2011 Q1 UPDATE: MS has flagged this as Active on her issue tracker in MS Connect .

2011 Q2 UPDATE: error reproduced on NVidia (2) and Radeon devices

Several add-ons, such as Tabs Studio and several screen capture utilities, are used, but the behavior persists even if they are disabled and / or unloaded during reboot.

My question is that this is caused by what is under my control and how the behavior can be fixed. In the meantime, I'm using Linqpad (wonderful), but we still need to use SSMS for a number of reasons, and this makes us wonder.

At least one other person has it and is sent to the MS connect website, but it cannot be resolved or addressed to MS, as far as I can tell.

Here is a nice screenshot of the issue

I also had the same issue in SSMS2008R2. A quick fix is to drag the Splitter between ObjectExplorer and SQLEditor. Then SSMS re-draws and the mapping is at least correct. Works with a probability of 75%. :)
