Cannot start old Android targets in AVD

I am trying to test an application in AVD with Android 3.1 as a target, but it is very slow and does not seem to respond. I created a new AVD with Android 2.1 as the target, but this AVD does not appear in the startup configurations in Eclipse even when updating and restarting.

Does anyone know why I cannot run older versions of Android?

I found that targetSdkVersion in the manifest file affects what is displayed in the launch configuration. Setting the target selection mode in manual mode in the launch configuration should open a pop-up window when it starts, which allows you to select any AVD, and not just those that match targetSdkVersion.

Try increasing the emulator memory to 1024 MB.

Go to AVD Manager, click on the emulator and then edit. You must find the size of the device’s memory and set a new value, then “Change AVD”.
