Where can I find information on the relative popularity of Perl modules?

One of the problems with using CPAN is that "there is more than one module for this." I often wonder what everyone else is using.

Is there any information on the relative popularity of CPAN modules anywhere?

If you are interested in the number of downloads, some numbers are available on the PPM Index - find popular modules. The data is a bit skewed as it is only Windows, but you can get an idea.
