Any experience using a linked SQL Server with DB2 with Entity Framework?

Unfortunately, we must use data from the DB2 mainframe in several of our web applications. We use the Entity Framework for any data stored on SQL Server, and we would very much like to use EF for all data access.

I know that IBM is working on an EF provider, but I follow this error and I don’t even want to touch it.

Therefore, the next option is to configure linked servers. This works well for other situations in the past, but I have never tried it with the Entity Framework.

Has anyone ever tried this and been successful? If so, could you share your pain points and tips and tricks?

Hide linked servers behind browsing or stored procedures. Hopefully EF should not be aware ...
