Python smtplib proxy support

I would like to send an email through a proxy.

My current implementation is as follows:

I connect to smtp server with authentication. After a successful login, I send an email. This works fine, but when I look at the message header, I see my hostname. I would like to tunnel through a proxy instead.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use SocksiPy :

To connect to the SMTP server, just use the class ProxySMTPinstead smtplib.SMTP.
