Google analytics - tracking events without affecting the bounce rate

Iโ€™m learning how to use Google Analytics to track ad impressions / clicks. Event tracking
seems to be the way to go.
Click tracking is easy to implement. I doubt my impressions:

  • using event tracking when loading a page will reduce my bounce rate to 0
  • using the second profile does not look elegant (leave it to the last resource)

PURPOSE: John loads page A and leaves. Quantity 1 for impressions and 1 for bounce rate, as it should be.

Is there a way to do this using Google Analytics?

(Edited with the new option without interaction)

Yes, this will absolutely reduce the bounce rate to zero (unless you explicitly set a new non-interaction flag).

For past data, the closest proxy to the bounce rate, when each page sends a few clicks to Google Analytics, uses โ€œVisit Depthโ€; % of visitors who view exactly 1 page are a close proxy server for the bounce rate in the instance you describe, because it does not include event tracking.
