Posting portlets with a grails application context or deploying multiple portlets through grails?

I currently have a grails application that deploys through liferay. Now I need to create several portlets, but I'm not sure the best way is to open grails domain objects and services.

How would you do that?

Ideally, I could either build my portlets directly in the grails application, or somehow combine them with each other when deployed in different wars.
