Emacs treats open buffers as a tree

Is there any emacs mode that will give me a list of my open buffers as a tree? By tree, I mean a directory tree, where buffers are grouped together if they visit files that are in the same directory.

In vanilla emacs or even icicles mode, the scans that I saw in the buffer list were all flat. The tree view will help me quickly understand which buffers are open and what is the relationship between them.

Perhaps a little heavyweight for what you want, but have you seen Project Buffer Mode ?
