Connecting a device to an Android device

Question

I was instructed by the university to program a mobile phone application. I decided that the two mobile phones would communicate with each other through a message.

I would like the application to connect a mobile phone to the Internet to send a message, and another mobile to connect to the Internet to receive a message.

I am using the Eclipse IDE.

Does anyone have any ideas for good examples of similar application source code, so I can develop my application using the appropriate protocols.

I would appreciate any advice, and of course I am not looking for someone to give me an “answer”. I really look forward to getting stuck. Although I never touched an Android phone, let alone that it is programmed. Therefore, some tips will be amazing.

Regarding the methods of interaction between the two devices, there are many and difficult to list. In general, you will have much more luck with specific questions than with broad questions.
