Removing "Program Name" in Image Metadata

In the properties of the Windows file, it is called "Program Name" in the "Origin" section. In Adobe Bridge, it is called the "Application" in the "File Properties" section.

I believe that it adds the name of the program used to create the file. It cannot be edited / deleted in Bridge or Windows.

I really don’t understand how it is added, because some images taken from the camera and edited in Lightroom do not add an attribute, and sometimes others. One file was edited in Photoshop and tagged with Photoshop, but the Windows Photo Viewer said when importing into Lightroom and exporting the attribute.

On the bottom line, I want the attribute to be removed. It seems that you cannot find a link to this attribute or how to remove it on the Internet.

Referring to my answer here . I tried all these exiftool programs that never worked for me. Assuming you are on Windows (or Windows 10), the solution to the problem was very simple. You can choose which property you want to remove. If this worked for you, kindly mark this as the correct answer.

Delete program name

gavsiu, try Exifcleaner from Superutils - it can selectively delete image metadata:

I think you are talking about jpeg images, which probably means exif data. You can try exiv2 to manage this data; as a last resort, the parameter -dashould remove all exif metadata.

If you are not talking about jpeg images, you should be more specific.
