Java SMS Messaging Application for Nokia Symbian S60

Question

Want to write an application to filter small messages (filter incoming SMS messages based on their contents in a specific folder) for Nokia E51. Java seems to be an easier route.
Is this possible using the Java API for the Symbian 60 Series phone? If so, which SDK and tools do I need?

PS: the application will be for personal use.

This is not possible with Java-ME; You cannot access your SMS inbox this way.

Based on this article, it seems that in J2ME it is not possible to intercept messages destined for Inbox.

Can anyone confirm this?
